October is full of PTA-related events. Please register and attend!

From the Desk of John Martin, District 10 Director

The education landscape for parents is changing fast. On top of the academics, now we have to worry about safety and welfare issues – vaping, stress, mental health, screen time, prescription drugs, cyberbullies, and more. And then there’s legislation – bus safety laws that go awry, school voucher bills opposed by PTA, and school safety bills that skirt around the real issues. Some of these challenges are so new that they weren’t things your parents worried about, while others are variations on old themes. How do you help your child navigate these issues? And how do you advocate for all children? Georgia PTA and District 10 have partnered up with some organizations that are putting on events soon, and you should attend some of these. Most of these are free, but even the free events require you to register.
